Web Domains

Web domains are the basis of the DNS (Domain Name System) that organizes the internet. If it were not for this system, internet users would not be able to access the necessary content with such convenience as they have now. This system is one of the aspects that have brought that huge popularity to the internet.

Web domains can have several extensions. There are most popular extensions - ".com", ".org", and ".net". Domain names can also come with country specific extensions indicating that a particular domain name was registered in this or that country. Thus, .uk stands for United Kingdom domains, .us stands for American domains, etc.

Web domains can be obtained from domain registrars, and once they are registered, domain registrants need to renew them every year. Now there are more than a hundred of domain registrars, and even if you are not satisfied with that of your choice, you'll be able to transfer your domain to another registrar.
