Top Level Domains
Domain names come in many forms that are called Top Level Domain name types (TLDs). The most popular and widely recognized TLD is still .com, but country names are also gaining wide recognition.
Here are some of the TLDs are as follows:
- .com -commercial businesses
- .gov – government institutions
- .org – non-profit institutions
- .mil – military organizations
- .net – network organizations
- .info – informative website
- .ca – Canada
- .in – Indian
Thus you can see that a website can't go with any TLD registration, as it should correlate with its purpose.
